NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans in July 2022. It was a four percent increase from 2019, while 71,000 American tourists visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. “It is thrilling to see a new increase in tourism Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of 2019,” he stated. “The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourism entry each month. It’s a fantastic positive change that we are happy to see and we anticipate an upward trajectory for many months to be.”

Canada is also on track, just as the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw the number increase to 6,000.

Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 came of the United States. The country’s official reopening for all tourists in May saw more than 600,000.
