NEW YORK – Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over the year before.

Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He stated, “It’s so exciting to witness a further rise in tourism to Israel from America, which is already reaching or surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019”. “The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel, and before the COVID-19 pandemic was announced, we had record-breaking tourism entry numbers every month. We’re thrilled to witness this positive change and anticipate a steady upswing for the years and months to follow.”

Canada is poised to surpass Israel’s tourist arrivals, with 7,200 tourists visiting Israel in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 came of the United States. The country’s official reopening to all travelers in May saw more than 600,000.
