Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Systems

This vacuum cleaner is an excellent choice for apartment dwellers as it has a smaller docking system and comes with its own trash bin. The app lets you choose different modes and monitor the cleanliness, plus the mopping function is impressive.

iRobot Roomba Combination

The iRobot Combo adds mopping to the already impressive vacuuming capabilities of the robot. It’s not quite able to compete with our reigning Editors’ Choice, the Deebot X1 Omni, which is more efficient and has an easier-to-use mobile app, but it does make an excellent choice. In our tests it was able to pick up dirt of all kinds and sizes from carpets and hard floors. Its obstacle avoidance isn’t as advanced as other systems like LiDAR or structured light, but it still is able to avoid most collisions.

The Combo includes many of the same smarts that the J7 Plus has, such as an the onboard acoustic sensor for determining the type of floor and AI-powered Navigation. However, it’s not able to control suction power using a hand. It’s also less compact than its vac-only counterpart, and it doesn’t have a self-empty dock.

The Combo is one of my favorites for homes with a lot of space. Its sleek design is also one of the best I’ve seen in the industry. The sleek matte black plastic appears superior to the competition’s glossy or metallic finishes, and iRobot’s little features–like a leather tab that can open the bin on the board and a shelf in the dock to store extra bags–are more elegant than many of its rivals’. The iRobot Combo also allows you to easily create maps of your home, and to set up Keep-Out Zones and No-Mop Zones and Clean Zones.

Roborock

While Roborock is comparatively new to the robot vacuum and mop industry, it’s already established its name because of its innovative cleaning technologies. Roborock’s vacuums are world-class in suction, and its mopping systems use vibrating mops to keep floors of dirt. Additionally, a variety of mapping and scheduling options allow you to fine-tune the schedule of cleaning for your home’s specific needs.

Another amazing Roborock feature is obstacle avoidance which allows the robot to see objects smaller than its height. This is especially helpful for the most well-known Roborock models, such as the Qrevo Master, which is top of the line in terms of navigation, thanks to both vSLAM and LiDAR. Other robovacs are known to run over pet faeces and slam furniture, without even noticing. The Qrevo Master however, addresses this issue with a Reactive Artificial Intelligence system that uses dual cameras to perceive the presence of objects in a room.

Roborock robots also have a number of convenience features that help reduce the need for daily maintenance, such as docks that can automatically empty themselves and multi-functional mop washing stations. These features make it unnecessary to empty dustbins or wash mops manually, making the user to have a hands-free ownership experience. Plus the app’s minimalist layout and fast connection to the robot make it easy to use.

Hobot Legee D8

With a range of cleaning modes that are integrated and advanced mopping options, the Hobot Legee is one of the top robot vacuums and mops for wet and dry floors. Its advanced navigation system combines five different technologies to plan and follow the most efficient route. It can also identify various flooring materials and recognize obstacles with pinpoint accuracy. It can even lift itself 7mm to glide across carpets. Smart spray system uses just the right amount of water to aid in stain removal without leaving marks.

The Legee is an Gen 4 Robot, competes directly against the Eufy Robovac X9 or Ecovacs Deebot T20. Both robots cost more. It has a self emptying bin, a high degree of suction, an array of mopping options, and a high-quality application that runs on iOS and Android.

It’s a bit smaller than the other models, and its main brush is a bit shorter however, it did a quick job in our test room. The edge brush that revolves on the side is a nice feature. Although it wasn’t able to remove dirt as well as some of the competitors, it still did a great job.
