NEW YORK – Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — In July and August of 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourists arriving from America. The country welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.

Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was exciting to see the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019, he added. “The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel and prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 was announced, we had record-breaking tourism entry numbers each month. We’re so happy to see this positive change and we anticipate an upward trajectory for many months and years to come.”

Not far behind the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourism numbers in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 , and 6,000 in August.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see the Canadian tourism industry to Israel returning. “We aren’t far off our record 2019, and we anticipate that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to increase because Canadians feel more confident traveling internationally.”
