NEW YORK – September 8 2022new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country received 78,000 tourists from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from 2019, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. “It is thrilling to see a new rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of the year 2019,” he stated. “The United States is our number one market for Israel’s inbound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel every month. We are so happy to have witnessed such a positive shift and anticipate it to continue for many months and years.”

Not far behind in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourism numbers in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.

We expect that this increase will continue to grow as Canadians travel more abroad.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019, with 969.600 of them coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter if they are vaccinated. The country has already hosted over 600,000.
