NEW YORK – Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of visitors from the United States who visited Israel during the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He said, “It’s so exciting to again see an increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, and already reaching or surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019”. “The United States remains our most important market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic there was a record-breaking number of monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are thrilled to witness this change and anticipate a steady upward trend for months or even years.
Canada which isn’t too far from that of the United States of America, is set to beat the tourist numbers to Israel. The country had 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,000 in August.
“It is thrilling to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding,” said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are still not far from our record numbers in 2019, and we are hoping that this growth in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling across the world.”
Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 of them were from the United States. The country’s official reopening for all tourists in May saw more than 600,000.
