Pastor Chris: The Man

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on the 7th of December th, 1963, in Edo State, Nigeria, grew up in a family of faith, surrounded by his loving and dedicated parents. He is the son of Elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the founders of the Assemblies to God Church in Benin City. Angelina and the matriarch Oyakhilome were also his parents. The divine grace of her mother was passed on to her son at an early age.

Pastor Chris has two children: Carissa Sharon und Charlene. Carissa Sharon decided to follow her father’s lead of sharing God’s Word to all people. The name is CSO (Community Service Organization), she is a gifted gospel singer and part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a student at Edo College and was awarded a scholarship by Bendel State University to study architecture. Pastor Chris: A Mentor

While in the university The Man of God began what would turn out to be the biggest church worldwide. It began as an uninvolved group of believers known as ‘Youth for Christ’. The group would later grow to be the foundation for LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy, and eventually millions of followers across the globe.

Under the guidance of Pastor Chris under the direction of Pastor Chris, under Pastor Chris’s direction, the LoveWorld ministry became a pioneer in satellite TV and Christian programming and production. LoveWorldSAT is the first Christian TV station to broadcast from Africa all day, on air-free networks. Today, LoveWorld television stations are available on satellite and cable networks across the globe.

Christ Embassy has strong presences in Pastor Chris’s home country of Nigeria and also South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a zealous philanthropist who founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation (COFI) a nonprofit, nongovernmental foundation with the goal of helping the most disadvantaged people and communities in some the most deprived regions and countries around the world.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Alongside proclaiming the gospel, the Man of God has also created a variety of non-profit organizations with the aim of providing vital services and hope to the poor, needy or uninformed. Five partners form part of COFI which works together to improve the living conditions in the poorest areas.

COFI is the responsible organization for the InnerCity Mission ICM for Children, the Volunteer Medical Corps VMC, Traumacare International Foundation TCIF, Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) along with the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organizations works to improve the lives and health of those in greatest need.
